Golden Girl "curse" strikes again

Tragedy has struck again in Hollywood as another cast member of the hit show "Golden Girls" has unexpectedly died. 76 year-old Rue McClanahan was found dead this week in a New York City hospital, apparently having died from unknown 'natural causes' that have fanned the flames of a "Golden Girl Curse."

The "Curse" has claimed all but one of the foursome cast, sparing only the 88 year-old Betty White. Bea Arthur died last year at the age of 87, while Estelle Getty died at the age of 84 just one year prior.

"They say two is a coincidence but three is a pattern," explained celebrity blogger Midge Mitchell, "with Rue's unexplained passing no sane person can deny that the Golden Girl Curse is real. My heart really goes out to Betty White."

Fans believe that Golden Girl Curse originated when Sophia, played by Estelle Getty, put a curse on one of her ex-boyfriends in Season 5, Episode 125. The curse, Mitchell explains, backfired and has since caused the death of the three actresses.

"We're pretty sure it was a stroke brought on by old age," said the hospital where McClanahan died. "She was really, really old."

"Of course that's what the hospital is going to say! Do you think the hospital wants people knowing that they can't stop a cursed person from dying? This is exactly what happened to George Harrison!" explains Mitchell, referring to the mysterious death of Beatle George Harrison who died at 58 after a history of cancer and life spent in the drug and rock culture.
