Vote for Alvin Greene!!!

Something strange has happened in South Carolina, and its name is Alvin Greene.

The 13 year Army/Air Force veteran recently submitted the requisite $10,000 to join the state's Senate race for the Democratic party and won the primaries.

Why is this a big deal?

Because no one has ever heard of Alvin Greene.

Alleged as a patsy placed by the republican party by the Democrats #3 in Congress, Greene, who won 60% of the vote, is a shining example of either 1) how frustrated Americans are with the status quo in DC, or 2) how little we really care about who we elect to Senate to divvy out our tax dollars and send our nation to war.

Greene, who recently interviewed with the press in t-shirts and sweatpants, doesn't seem to have many opinions on anything, but I kinda want to vote for him anyway. While well-spoken, well-mannered people populate the Senate, I think we may be onto a Mr. Smith Goes to Washington of the South Carolina variety, assuming he's legitimate.

However, his legitimacy is being questioned, largely because no one knows where the unemployed war vet got his $10,000 party buy-in (can we talk about WHY someone needs a 10k party buy-in, btw?), and also he's has a felony charge pending in court against him.

Despite looming felony charges, South Carolina would still be better represented in Congress than Georgia.

But enough from me, I'll let Keith Olberman take it from here:
