From Guantanamo to Tropical Paradise

Seven years after being wrongfully imprisoned at Guantanamo Bay, the 17 Uighers (that's pronounced 'whiggers') who no longer have a place to live have been offered residency on the small tropical island of Palau.

President Johnson Toribiong has released a statement saying it was "a small thing that we can do to thank our best friend and ally"the U.S., according to NPR. Oddly, this offer coincides with a 200 million dollar U.S. aide package to the small island.

Palau, for those not up to snuff on their Pacific archipelagos, is a few hundred miles north of Papua New Guinea, southwest of Yap, and a thousand miles east of Manila. While there, released Uighers will enjoy some of the best SCUBA diving in the world, a popular hobby among minority Islamic Chinese ethnicities who formally lived in the landlocked country of Afghanistan.

  1. There have been rallies outside the whitehouse for the last few months to free them or bring them somewhere nice. I wonder if we sit out in front of the White House we can demand extradition to an island.
