Three homeless men were arrested in Russia yesterday for eating another man, and then selling bits of the carcass to a kebab and pie shop. Officials grew suspicious when they found dismembered parts of a 25-year-old man near a bus stop.
In a real-life Sweeney Todd moment, the three men then sold part of the carcass to a kebab and pie shop for cash. The shop is keeping its lips sealed on whether the meat was ever sold to the public, but odds are any shop that buys its meat from three homeless men probably wouldn't care if they did.
With Russia's unemployment rate dropping, and with its economy on the mend, the trend of eating other people likely won't spread anytime soon. However, Russians will find themselves with more time on their hands this week as the Russian government just outlawed poker. Hopefully only a few will take up cooking as a new hobby.
