My Sense of Youth, 1982-2009

My Sense of Youth died today. It was 26 years old.

My Sense of Youth had been in failing health for sometime, though it had been hospitalized since realizing most of today's pinup models were born in the 1990s, the same decade I was in high school.

This morning My Youth died when it was approached by a co-worker's grandchild (born in the 21st century). The co-worker and her grandchild were going on a road trip, and My Youth in all its ignorance had asked the small girl if she was going to play Slug Bug, the game where if one sees a Volkswagen Beetle one yells out the color and punches the person closest to them.
"You mean Punch Buggy," she said.

"Punch buggy, yes that's another name for it."

"We do that with PT Cruisers. What's a Beetle?"
Witnesses say My Sense of Youth passed peacefully, knowing that a childhood game of his still existed, though its subject change from a VW Beetle to a PT Cruiser proved too much. An autopsy is scheduled for the fourth.

Other possible contributing factors to My Sense of Youth's death: Indiana Jones 4, nose hair, LOLcatz, Jonas Brothers.

  1. haha! I sympathize (especially being much older). One of my friends was dating someone younger who had never seen a record. He didn't realize this until he asked her to turn the record over and she didn't understand, she thought it was like a CD where only one side worked. At that moment, he felt incredibly old.
