Antique Glass Ceiling Appraised at $1,000,000

For those who tune in weekly to the PBS smash hit Antique Roadshow, something happened last week in shooting: for the first time in the show's history an item was appraised at over $1,000,000.

The item in question are a set of jade Chinese pieces that were created by "imperial order" as indicated by the stamp on the bottom. The pieces were brought to a Raleigh, North Carolina shoot (no pictures were available).

The Brits, who have their own Antique Roadshow, outdid American's last November with their own million quid appraisal -- about 1.655 million US dollars -- when they found a scale model of Anthony Gormley's artwork, "The Angel of the North." As no one except the Brits know what this is, here is a picture.

More on the find here.
