Started in earnest way back in April, we here at the Fourth Corner set out with lofty ambitions: to make money on click-thru ads in the lower right hand corner. And by God we have. To date, we've cashed in over $21.43.
But money wasn't our only ambition. Fame was, too. As of now, the Fourth Corner, its photo caption fashionistas, and Death from the Doorstep Diaries has been viewed in over 30 states and 11 countries (thank you, Haiti!). Our most popular posting with 62 views to date occurred when the FC covered the breaking tell-all report on Justice-nominee Sotomayor's established anti-nunchuck policies in "Nunchucks in the News".
As if fortune and fame weren't ambitious enough, name recognition in this Googly world is paramount. Before this blog, the "Fourth Corner" was relegated to page three of Google searches. Now fully blog-ified, the Fourth Corner is still competing against many of the web's most successful internet sensations such as:
- Tales from the Fourth Corner about a "progessive mom from Northwest Washington" who is a "... sucker for good air quality."
- The Fourth Corner Exchange, a website about a Sustainable Community Currency based in the Pacific Northwest, now with over 600 participating members.
- ... Let's see, Fourth Corner Fly Fishing ... Fourth Corner Adult Homes Directory, Fourth Corner Charm City Chamber Music, Fourth Corner Folk Dancers, Fourth Corner Hustler Gang ("... in a globe which plants and wild peoples and on an essential part of lava, rising in great modern astronomy has a fourth corner hustler gang"), "The Fourth of July is right around the Corner" ...
So thanks America (and Haiti) for all your help. Here's to a hundred more.
haha, congratulations!! Actually that amount is pretty good for ads if you've only been operating them since April. Cheers, lifting my tea in celebration!
