Twitter is the new Che Guevara.
The State Department has officially requested Twitter hold-off on a software update so protesters in Iran can use it to spread incendiary messages about the Ayatollah, Ahmadinejad and the recent election.
The Department of Defense is now Twittering (Tweeting? Twating?) in cell-phone dependent Afghanistan to counter Taliban propaganda, something that will become more important as the war-ridden country prepares for its second democratic elections.
Finally, Twitter and a slew of other Web 2.0 software won out in Communist China today when the government reversed its recent policy on internet filtering. Due to heavy protesting, the government backpedaled on its requirement to add internet filtering hardware to all new Chinese computers.
So, if Twitter is the new way to foment revolution, what does that make Ashton Kutcher, the most prominent Twitterer (definitely Twaterer) out there with 2,231,369 followers?
