The Montauk Monster!

A frustrating internet sensation, but one that's back in the press. Yesterday a second Montauk Monster washed ashore (according to a blogger, the most reliable source EVER) reigniting speculation about what exactly a Montauk Monster is--hoax, viral marketing, new species, dog.

Last year an unidentified carcass (pictured) washed up on a Jersey shore and sparked the debate. Some believe it came from nearby Plum Island, home to the Department of Homeland Security's Animal Disease Center... which is in turn home to polio, foot and mouth disease and other things they keep in their freezer... also home to an "anti-animal" biological weapons program in the 50s and 60s according to wikipedia.

The Center has no comment on the Montauk, but it seems everyone on the internet does. So, what is it?
